About the Trust

Central Lakes Trust is a charitable trust supporting our community, by granting funds for charitable purposes throughout the Central Lakes district. 

Annually, approximately $7-9 million is granted to community organisations throughout the Trust's funding region, which spans most of Central Otago and Queenstown Lakes. 

Since inception in 2000 the Trust has grown its asset base from the $155m bestowed by the Otago Central Electric Power Trust to assets totalling $388 million, and granted over $99 million.

2019 TRIENNIAL ELECTION OF TRUSTEES FURTHER NOTICE OF ELECTION

Every three years, the community elect who will represent us and serve on the Board of Central Lakes Trust.

The following persons have been nominated as candidates for the 2019 triennial election of trustees: CENTRAL LAKES TRUST (5 trustees to be elected)

There being more candidates than vacancies, an election is required to determine the trustees. The election will be held under the First Past the Post electoral system using postal and internet voting. Candidate names will be listed in random order on the voting documents.

How to Vote

You can vote in ONE of two ways:

1 Internet Vote

Go to www.clt.net.nz

You will be asked to enter a PIN and password. Your unique PIN and password will be provided on the voting paper. After voting, please destroy this voting paper.

2 Postal Vote

Postal Return Instructions:

  1. Read the profiles in the booklet provided before voting.

  2. Place a tick in the circle next to the candidate(s) you prefer.

  3. You may vote for a maximum of FIVE (5) candidates. You may vote for less than five candidates if you wish.

  4. After voting carefully fold and place the voting paper in the freepost envelope provided and post it to the Returning Officer.

  5. All voting papers must be in the hands of the Returning Officer no later than 12 noon on Friday 22 November 2019.

  6. If you spoil or destroy the voting paper, call the Election Helpline on 0800 666 030 to request a replacement paper.

Please note that the last day for posting voting papers so that they reach the Returning Officer by the close of voting is Tuesday 19 November 2019.

Voting Period

The voting period will commence on Thursday 31 October and will close at midday on Friday 22 November 2019. Voting documents will be mailed to all qualified electors between Thursday 31 October and Tuesday 5 November 2019.

Enrolment and Special Voting Facilities

Adult residents residing within the Central Lakes Trust area who are not listed on the final electoral roll for this election can enrol by calling 0800 ENROL NOW (0800 36 76 56), visiting the Elections website (www.elections.org.nz) or obtaining enrolment forms at any Postshop up to 4.00pm on Thursday 21 November 2019.

Special votes are available from Thursday 31 October to midday, Friday 22 November 2019 from the Central Lakes Trust office, 190 Waenga Drive, Cromwell during normal office hours. Special votes may be claimed by:

  • Electors, who have lost, spoilt or destroyed the original voting documents mailed to them.

  • Any other persons aged 18 or over who reside within the Central Lakes Trust area and believe they have a right to vote and have not already voted in the election.
