CLASS acts – Funding artistic brilliance

Central Lakes Art Support Scheme (CLASS) is a Central Lakes Trust (CLT) initiative that brings more art and creativity into our communities. Managed by the four Community Arts Councils in our region, CLASS is all about increasing participation in the arts and making sure there's a diverse range of artistic expressions available locally.

CLASS supports a wide array of creative pursuits with grants of up to $2,500 per project. These can include language, arts, and literature, performing arts like theatre, dance, and music, visual arts such as painting and sculpture, as well as multi-disciplinary projects that mix different art forms.

Some fantastic projects have already benefited from CLASS funding, including events such as the Queenstown Writers Festival. Locals have also benefited from a wide range of artistic opportunities including salsa classes, spinning and weaving groups, and even a hula hoop workshop!

The arts is all about making sure everyone has the opportunity to engage with and enjoy the arts. So, if you've got a creative project in mind, don't hesitate to reach out and see how CLASS can support you in bringing your artistic vision to life!
