Since 2005, the Central Otago Principals Association School Referral Programme has helped schools support students with complex learning, behavioural, and mental health needs. The programme will now extend to primary schools across the region, backed by $1,088,811 in funding over the next three years.

“This funding has delivered significant positive outcomes over the years,” says Mat Begg, CLT Grants Manager. “Demand has continued to grow, and many principals have highlighted the need for earlier support for students with complex needs. Expanding the programme to primary schools will help ensure these challenges are identified and addressed sooner.”
