Central Otago Living Options is set to redevelop Mana House, their home for people with disabilities in Alexandra.

The redevelopment includes internal reconfiguration, an additional bedroom and accessible ensuite, a new kitchen and shared living layout, replacement roofing, double glazing, insulation, upgraded heat pump heating, electrical and plumbing work, and flooring and interior finishing. A solar system will also be added to make the home more sustainable. The changes will improve warmth, energy efficiency and accessibility, and make the house easier to adapt as tenants change over time.

“Accessible homes are extremely hard to secure in Central Otago, and since we bought Mana House in 2014 the needs of the people we support have changed significantly,” says Olivia Wildey. “This redevelopment means the house can keep up with those needs, giving people a warm, safe and dignified home for decades to come, while protecting an important community asset.”

CLT is contributing $210,000 towards the project.
