Dave brings a broad range of leadership experience from managing a wide range of sporting and community organisations. His previous roles include Chef de Mission for the New Zealand Paralympic Team in Sydney; Chef de Mission for the New Zealand Olympic Teams in Athens, Beijing and London; Race Director for the NZ Ironman Triathlon; Manager of the NZ Black Caps; Executive Director of the Halberg Trust; and Chair of the WEL Energy Trust. Dave is currently Chair of 'Guardians of Lake Hāwea'.

Dave is a passionate mountain biker, tramper and gardener and is actively involved in a range of environmental projects in Lake Hāwea. He is in awe of what Central Otago offers, and is driven by a desire to leave a legacy of place for his grandchildren.
